3D Printing, CAD and Design give Ernest the Edge in winning the IDX Award
Digital Elder 2017 Ernest Gondarra
Congratulations to our star student from ALPA Arnhem Land, Ernest Gondarra, Digital Elder of the Year 2017, on his success at the first Indigenous Digital Excellence awards! The inaugural National IDX Awards aim to recognise and reward Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people demonstrating Indigenous Digital Excellence which promote and support new opportunities in communities all over Australia.
The National IDX Awards is an opportunity to showcase what is happening in remote, rural and urban communities, and engage the wider Australian community to recognise and invest in the benefits of increasing Indigenous digital participation. Ernest was nominated for his 3D design and printing work, which consisted of a superb model groundwater system for Rio Tinto. The model was designed as a visual aid to assist Rio Tinto’s engineers to explain projects to people in remote communities.
