This one day 3D Printing & CAD Course has been accredited by BOSTES (Board of Studies and Educational Standards NSW) at proficient teacher standard s 3.3.2, 3.4.2 and 6.2.2 and provides 7 hours of registered professional development. Modfab runs this course at TTA– check out the dates through this link. We also run this course onsite at schools with two or more teachers and provide 3D printers and all the material needed for the day.
Modfab’s one day 3D printing and Basic CAD course is designed to get teachers up to speed with this exciting new technology. Modfab has trained over 280 teachers from primary, secondary school and TAFE, and we believe that we have a course that will empower educators to take 3D printing and CAD into their classrooms and pass these skills to their students. It is a hands-on course which will provide you with the confidence to operate, maintain and troubleshoot a generic dual FDM (fused deposition modelling) printer. All aspects of 3D model preparation and slicing are covered to enable teachers to produce great looking 3D prints. We train CAD using Tinkercad, an online application that has the most friendly and intuitive interface we have found. The course allows teachers to look for real world connections to the subjects when utilising this 21st century technology.
Modfab has designed “3D Printing and CAD – 21st Century Technology for Everyone” to encompass a wide range of teachers and faculties.
We have coined the term STREAMHD which stands for Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, Art, Maths, History and Disability. While TAS teachers will get a great deal of value from the course, we believe all teachers can benefit from an understanding of this important, new technology
