Modfab at Comic Gong 2016!
Comic Gong
Winner! Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbury presents the prize at Comic Gong 2016

Winner of the 3D Printed Superman at Comic Gong!

At Modfab, we love being involved in all kinds of events and happenings. So when we got the chance to be a part of Wollongong’s huge comics and graphic novel fair, Comic Gong, we jumped at the chance.

Run by Wollongong City Library, Comic Gong has grown to a healthy annual event of over 6000 eager participants. Comic Gong brings together all the elements you would expect- Cos Play, comic and graphic novel showcases, stalls and trading, and more.

It’s matured into a fantastic event where fantasy, literature and creativity collide. Pop culture is part and parcel of fuelling the imagination of many a scientist and innovator, so Modfab Australia was thrilled to be involved!

Modfab had lots of visitors at the Wollongong City Library on Comic Gong stall.  Part of the raffle in the library was our 3D Printed Superman which was presented by the Wollongong Lord Mayor Bradbury.

It was an incredible busy day with bands, workshops, amazing costumes, comic books, pop culture and the list goes on. Again, we were so proud of Wollongong and the Illawarra for putting on such an amazing, fun and family friendly event. No matter your kind of interest in pop culture and comics in general, it’s a great day of fun for kids of all ages.

Imagining the application of 3d printing and computer aided drawing for prizes, CosPlay and figurines was enough to keep the Modfab Australia team well and truly fuelled for months to come.

The only thing missing was Sheldon- but we hear concerted efforts are being undertaken!

We look forward to seeing all the fun and frivolity of Comic Gong in May, 2017. Maybe we’ll see you there!
